Monica manages implementation of Teaching Lab’s partner portfolio projects and leads high-quality, curriculum-aligned professional learning experiences for teachers and schools implementing high quality math curriculum using our model for professional learning.

Monica joined Teaching Lab with over 17 years in STEM education as a teacher, leader and instructional coach. After earning a degree in chemical engineering, Monica saw a need for equitable education and preparation to pursue opportunities in STEM, so she decided to transition to the field of education.

During her time as an educator she taught math, science, and Project Lead the Way, an engineering curriculum, to middle school students in Detroit. She also led several after school programs to provide students with exposure to various STEM opportunities. After teaching Monica served as an instructional coach, where she supported teachers in improving math and science instruction and student learning.

Monica holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree from the University of Michigan and a Masters of Art in Teaching from Wayne State University. She enjoys baking and traveling and she resides in Romulus, Michigan with her husband.
